Didn't NBC change the location of their tower about a year ago? Which actually put it closer to the Sutro one.

I live in S.F. about a mile from Twin Peaks. I inherited(literally) a one year old Dell work station ($3,000) from a music buff (he had a web page on music that got many replies from around the world). I am not very knowledgeable myself about this sort of stuff but this computer probably made things easy for me. With a little bit of anxiety I installed an ATI Wonder card 650 ($100 at Best Buy). Works GREAT. Records (scheduled or push button) HDTV (no quality loss) or FM radio. They say you need an amplified aerial. I put on a connecting coax (have not gotten such an aerial yet) put much of the coax in the window. I perfectly receive NBC, ABC, KQED(regular broadcast, ENCORE, and WORLD), KIDS and three in Chinese broadcasts. All HDTV. I have a 17" monitor--not bad viewing for one person, but LCD is too directional for more viewers(of course a computer monitor is only designed for one person at a time). Hope eventually to get a bigger screen, but it looks like the screen may be the most expensive aspect of a regular HDTV, so running off a computer may not save much. Looks like 90% of the cost of an HDTV is a result of the screen.

Not very well, but I was using the ATI HDTV Wonder. I will be getting a couple of DVICo HD tuners which sound like they are leaps and bounds better than the ATI unit is at tuning signals. I have made a lot of changes, added another MCE box, moved some tuners around. So, I have had some tweaking to do, which has been a bit of a pain, but things are almost all worked out right now. Need to order the DVICo tuners going, but I almost want to wait and see if the cable card tuners are going to be out soon so that I can just use digital cable channels like we should be able to at this point.

I'm glad to see that our DTV Channel List was useful for you.

Don't forget that there are three digital stations on Mt. San Bruno - KNTV 12.1, KSTF 27.1 and KKPX 41.1-41.4 - that you should be able to get as well.

How well did your MCE do in picking up all of the stations?
